Mrs. Maxine McCool, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Winston MedicalCenter in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.at Noxapater Methodist Church in Noxapater, Mississippi, on Saturday, August 31, 2013, with Rev. David Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Noxapater Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. McCool was born on January 22, 1927, to Littleton Worthy and Lottie Craig Estes. She was a member of Noxapater United Methodist Church and a retired teacher with more than 40 years of teaching young people in Noxapater, Louisville, and Lobutcha schools.
She is survived by three sons: Michael McCool (Sabrina) of Ridgeland, Mississippi; Marc McCool (Carrie) and Robert McCool (Pam) all of Louisville. Mrs. McCool is also survived by two sisters, Jean Woodruff of Louisville and Elsie Carter (J. C.) of Noxapater; and by three brothers: Jerry Estes (Ilene) of Louisville, Bob Estes (Faith) of Noxapater, and Dee Estes (Patti) of Prentiss, Mississippi. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Gwen LaRose (Brian), Tyler McCool, Lindsey McCool, Katie McCool and Peyton McCool, as well as two great-grandchildren, Chole and Lawson LaRose. Mrs. McCool is preceded in death by her husband, Dee McCool, her parents, and two brothers, Wayne Estes and M. O. Estes.
