Mrs. Jean Burnham Richardson, 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Neshoba General Nursing Home in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Moehring officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Richardson was born on January 24, 1937, to Jeffie and Abbie King Adams. "Miss Jean" enjoyed her 40 years of working as a waitress at Lake Tiak O'Khata serving and visiting with people from all across the United States.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by two daughters, Donna L. Goodin of Preston, Mississippi, and Jeanna Watts and husband, Johnny, of McCool, Mississippi; one son, Melvin Burnham, Jr., and wife, Pam, of Louisville; one sister, Dean Wilkerson and husband, Ray, also of Louisville; and four brothers: Tommy Adams of Ackerman, Jack Watson of Louisville, Bob Adams and wife Wanda, of Macon, Mississippi, and David Watson of Louisville. She also has 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur R. Richardson; her parents; her grandchild, Christie Thomas; her brother, Bill Adams; and her son-in-law, Scottie Goodin.
