Sharon Wood Moon, 62, died Tuesday, December 3, at Gilmore Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Conroe, TX on June 26, 1950 to Harris G. and Barbara Hayes Wood. Mrs. Moon grew up in and attended school in Louisville, MS.
She was a Member of Meadowood Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Community Bible Study. Living the Christian life to the best of her ability, she studied the Bible extensively, and always sought to help others. Mrs. Moon was very active in community outreach programs. She loved her family very much. She enjoyed cooking the Cajun way, reading, watching T.V., traveling, especially to Rome and Israel, and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook.
She is survived by her parents, husband, John Moon (Amory); son, Paul W. “Rusty” Singleton (Stacey) of Tennessee Colony, TX; step sons, Gavin J. Moon (Rebecca) of Covington, GA and Darrell Moon (Ronda) of Corinth; brothers, Danny Metzinger of AZ, Sam Wood of Jackson, Ms and Patrik Wood of Memphis; grandchildren, Michael White, Christopher Singleton, Julie Fogarty (John), Theresa Moon, J.P. Moon, and Caitlin Moon (Scott); great great grandchildren, McKason Singleton, Lilli Caite Burcham and Andrew Strickland; and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, December 7 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Lloyd Sweat officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Allen, David Roberts, Steve Reeves, Rex Coker, Van Burroughs and David Best.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, from 5 PM- 8 PM at the funeral home.
