Mr. Thomas Rasse Dobbs, 89, passed away on November 12, 2012, at his residence in Dubach, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 1 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday with Rev. Bill Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Blythe Creek Cemetery in Choctaw County.
Mr. Dobbs was born on June 9, 1923, to Joe and Ruth Blassingame Dobbs. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ruston, Louisiana, and a retired salesman for Jarvis Oil Company of Louisville. He answered the call of his country during World War II by serving in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Dobbs of Ruston, Louisiana; his step-daughter, Barbara Blanton of El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren: Teresa Skelton Mann (David) of Ruston, Louisiana; Steve Towne, Jr., (Tracie) of Dickerson, Texas; and Gino Palmieri of Ruston, Louisiana; four great-grandchildren: Tyler Mann, Steven Towne III, Sheena Towne, and Ariana Towne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Dobbswas preceded in death by his parents and his step-daughter, Betty Skelton.
Pallbearers will be David Mann, Tyler Mann, and Gino Palmieri. The family requests that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society, c/o Penny's From Heaven, 532 East Main Street, Louisville, MS 39339.
