Elizabeth Nunnally

Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Ellis Nunnally, 103, died August 31, 2012, in Maryland. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 8th, at Louisville Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Christopher Keipe officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home, and on Saturday from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Known as “Libby & Elizabeth”, she was born on April 11, 1909, near Louisville. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1927 as salutatorian of her class. Elizabeth married Peyton Alvin Nunnally in 1929 and worked in retail clothing stores. Elizabeth lived in or near Louisville for 89 years. In 1998, she moved to Marriottsville, MD., to be near her son, John Nunnally, daughter-in-law, Marilyn, and her 2 grandchildren, Susan Barner and husband, Kevin; and Laura Sanchez, and husband, Kenneth; and 4 great grandchildren, Payton & Reid Sanchez, Ryan and Jewel Barner. AT 89, she helped move into a house near John and Marilyn in Marriottsville, MS; where she lived until age 98, when she moved to an assisted living facility near Marriottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Payton Alvin Nunnally; her parents, Beulah Frazier Ellis and Herbert Mayfield Ellis; and two sisters, Gussie Mae Kirkpatrick and Louise Chapman. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Louisville Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 506, Louisville, MS, 39339.
