Lillie Ruth Parkes

Mrs. Lillie Ruth Parkes, 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012, at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Wilcher officiating.  Interment will be in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.  
Mrs. Parkes was born December 18, 1925.  She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.  Mrs. Parkes worked at Spartus Corporation painting clock faces for 18 years; she also enjoyed sitting and ministering to the elderly.
Mrs. Parkes is survived by five daughters:  Beth Smith and husband, Howard, of Charlotte, North Carolina; Patsy Larkin of Augusta, Georgia; Lynn McDonald and husband, Mike, also of Augusta, Georgia; Tina Holdiness and husband, Sam, of Noxapater, Mississippi; and Melanie Hilliard and husband, Sidney, of Louisville, Mississippi.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren:  Kricket Wrenn and husband, Vincent; Karen Smith; John Hutto and wife, Denise; Skipper Ammons and wife, Jennifer; Phillip Ammons; Jason Holdiness and wife, Christy; Ashley Reynolds and husband, Greg; Laura Files and husband, James; Keith Hilliard and wife, Shawna; and Logan Hilliard; as well as, 11 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Parkes was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Parkes; two grandchildren:  Jerry Hutto and Darryl Hutto; her parents, George and Effie Eubanks Farish; her brother, Charles Farish; and two sisters:  Cerelle Edson and Narvelle Hendrickson.   
Pallbearers will be John Hutto, Skipper Ammons, Phillip Ammons, Jason Holdiness, Keith Hilliard, and Logan Hilliard.  Memorials may be given to Evergreen Baptist Church, c/o Joy Childs, 4068 Highway 14 East, Louisville, MS 39339.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 N.
