Marion E. Roush


Marion E. Roush joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 23, 2012. He was born December 29, 1925 in Morrill, Kansas to Charles L. and Ruth Roush. Following graduation from Salina High School, Marion joined the United States Army and was a Staff Sergeant with the 3rd Division in Ft. Benning, GA. After serving his country in occupied Germany for two years, Marion returned home and later attended the University of Kansas. While there, he met the woman who was to be his loving wife of 56 years, Annie Laura VanLandingham, and joined her in marriage on June 12, 1951. They made their home in Pascagoula, MS where Marion was a respected businessman and a partner in the accounting firm of Wolfe, Roush and McDuff. He later founded the firm Automated Accountants and was a pioneer in computer assimilation in the workplace. In March of 1991, Ann and Marion relocated to the Oklahoma City area where he has remained a resident since that time. He was a member of Quail Springs Baptist Church.
A kind and gracious gentleman, Marion seldom met a stranger and always offered a generous smile and warm hello to all who crossed his path. He lived a life of integrity and honor as he fulfilled the roles of devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son. Marion loved his Lord, cherished his family and treasured his friends. He was a man of great strength and quiet dignity whose unselfish and caring heart endeared him to all.
Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Roush; parents, Charles and Ruth Roush; sister, Juanita Bearle Roush; brothers, Myrl and Vernon Roush and cousins, Garald and Edgar Roush. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Susan Roush of Mobile, AL; daughter and son-in-law, James and Pamela Bradford of Edmond, OK; grandsons, Charlie and Jackson Roush; granddaughters, Anne and Kathryn Bradford; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Janice Roush of Sabetha, KS; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma and Bob Lehmann of Nashville, TN and Dyce and Wanda Bonham of Olathe, KS; sister-in-law Marie Roush of Sabetha, KS as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Family visitation will be Wednesday, April 25 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Smith-Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK, and Friday, April 27 from 5:00-7:00 at Porter Funeral Home, 302 West Park Street, Louisville, MS. A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church in McCool, MS on Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. where interment will follow.
