Janie Lou Wells Johnson

Janie Lou Wells Johnson, 78, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time on Friday, February 24, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, a Winston County native, was the daughter of Irvin Alwin and Belle Myers Wells, granddaughter of Finis Wells, and great-granddaughter of Benjamin Wells and Arnold Taylor of the Center Ridge Community.

Born December 15, 1933, in Louisville, she graduated a year early in the Class of 1950. Following business college, she was employed in Jackson before her marriage in 1952. Having lived most of her life in Louisville and Greenville, upon retirement from Washington Manufacturing (Schwinn Bicycle) in Greenville, she retired to Tupelo.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Johnson, of Weir, Mississippi, her son, David Johnson and wife, Suzanne, and grandson Wesley Johnson, all of Cabot Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother John, and the rest of her siblings, Isaac, Floyd, Dewitt, and her sister, Sarah Wylie.
