Willie Pearl Griffith

Mrs. Willie Pearl Griffith, 81, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at her home in Noxapater. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29th at 11:00 A.M. at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Indian Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Griffith was born January 15, 1930, in Winston County. She was a seamstress for Wells Lamont in Philadelphia, MS, and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bryan Griffith; her parents, Fate Smith and Lois Swindle; 3 brothers, Elton Smith, Henry Earl Smith, and James Woodrow Smith; and two sisters, Waldine Jones and Donnie Allen. She is survived by four sons, Horace Griffith of Philadelphia, MS Richard Griffith of Oxford, MS, J.B. Griffith of Starkville, MS, and Joe Griffith of West Point, MS; one daughter, Sally Vowell of Louisville; one sister, Inez Eakes of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Memorials may be made to Indian Springs Cemetery Fund, 2539 Mount Calvary Church Rd., Louisville, MS 39339.
