Z. A. “Brantley” Smith

Mr. Z. A. “Brantley” Smith, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at his residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Saturday, May 14, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Frazier, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born on October 26, 1938, to Elwood Earl and Velma Smith, and was a retired boiler maker.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Katherine Smith of Noxapater, Mississippi; one daughter, Sandra Kay Brown of Lauderdale, Mississippi; three sons, James Smith and Chris Smith both of Noxapater, Mississippi, and Kenneth Smith of Wells, Minnesota; one sister, Mary Edna House of Lauderdale, Mississippi; three brothers, John David Smith, Quavis Smith, and E. T. Smith, all of Noxapater, Mississippi; 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Earl and Velma Smith; a granddaughter, Christina Kelly; one brother, James Earl Smith, and one sister, Avoy Pendleton.
