Terri Hudspeth

Ms. Terri Hudspeth, 49, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Crystal Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Crystal Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Born August 16, 1961, Ms. Hudspeth was a teacher and was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from West Point High School in May, 1979. She then attended Mississippi State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. Later she attended Nichols State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, where she received her Master’s degree in 1987. Also in 1987, Ms. Hudspeth was named as an Outstanding Young American in Louisiana. She taught and worked with Special Children for 24 years. She was a great teacher but she was more than that. She fed these children when they came to school hungry and she took them home when they had no way home after school. She was completely dedicated to them. Ms. Hudspeth is survived by her parents, Doc and Minnie Hudspeth of Louisville, Mississippi; one brother, Richard Hudspeth and wife, Jennifer, of Madison, Mississippi; two nephews, Will and Ethan Hudspeth; two nieces, Sara and Bonnie Hudspeth; seven aunts; two uncles; and a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie J. and Bytha Flake and Olen and Bessie Hudspeth as well as her uncle, George Flake. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Flake, Ronnie Flake, Carl Flake, Ray McBrayer, Mike Robertson, and Jerry Hill. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, Mississippi, is handling the arrangements.
